Isamu Tatsuno established Montbell in Osaka, Japan in 1975 with a goal to create quality outdoor equipment, meant for adventure. All Montbell products are produced according to the Japanese philosophy of 'ki-no-bi' which translates as 'Function is Beauty'. Over the years Montbell has grown into projects that meet its social objectives, and established itself as a leader and true force for good in the outdoor industry.
